Cereal crop farmers in Romania and across the EU have been seriously affected by the loss of income arising from the volatility of prices on the grain market.

After three years of high grain prices, farmers will this year incur losses, even if their productivity is projected to be higher than the market would expect.

The EU should therefore tackle the volatility of grain prices with financial support instruments and not simply with area payments.

What action will the Commission take to protect cereal crop farmers?
