Romania is a vulnerable country in terms of the security of its national cyberspace. In the field of legislation governing use of the Internet, Romania has laws and regulations that regulate the protection of personal data, e-government and digital signatures, etc.

But all this is insufficient to ensure a secure cyberspace, and there is a need for a central institution to deal exclusively with cyber risks at national level.

What means of assistance can the Commission provide Romania, in view of the fact that governmental and trade activities are increasingly carried out via the Internet, and that cyberspace not only poses threats but also offers opportunities to promote national interests and objectives?
