Most of the inhabitants of the rural area cultivate products for their own consumption, for household consumption and, in a very small share, for sale. Because small farmers do not conclude insurance contracts for crops, they suffer losses due to various calamities, such as drought and flooding. Although there are programmes seeking to encourage farmers to take out insurance policies for their holdings, the number of people who do it is very small. Given the above:
