According to the latest data published by the National Institute of Statistics, Romania’s stable population was estimated at 19 596 372 on 1 March 2015, decreasing by 32 851 compared to 1 January 2015. The main causes for this phenomenon are migration and the decrease of the birth rate, coupled with the mortality rate. Romania will become a demographically small country in the near future.
