In the terrorist attack of 26 June this year in the city of Sousse, Tunisia, two young men killed 39 people on the beaches of two luxury hotels located on the country’s coast. Tunisia is one of the countries that have been fighting a tough battle against the Islamic State following the Bardo Museum attack in March this year. However, it is estimated that around 3 000 Tunisians are fighting alongside the terrorist group, making Tunisia the country from which the Islamic State recruits most fighters.

How does the Commission intend to act in order to identify and address the factors that contribute to radicalisation and to prevent the recruitment of persons who commit terrorist acts in the name of an organisation that has supporters all over the world?
